Desdichado Posted 11 January , 2008 Share Posted 11 January , 2008 Did either side drop propaganda leaflets on the enemy from the air during WWI? I know that it was quite common during WWII to do this but I've read nothing about it happening in the Great War. Does anyone know if this was done and perhaps put up a photograph of a leaflet? centurion Posted 11 January , 2008 Share Posted 11 January , 2008 We've already had quite a bit about this in another thread including pictures of leaflets. The Germans actually tried for treason and convicted a number of RFC crew because leaflets they had dropped 'defamed ' the Kaiser and the German army and encouraged soldiers to desert! They got 10 years despite pointing out that as citizens of a country at war with Germany its difficult to se how treason applied. Thers was much outcry at the time.
