Guest Beingabout2 Posted 29 December , 2007 Share Posted 29 December , 2007 Hi there Does anyone have a connection with the family of Sister Fanny Wilson - who served with the NZANS at the NZ General Hospital in Cairo and then the UK in WW1? I have a photo of her to share from her time in Egypt. Next of kin was listed as Mrs Alfred Pickering (sister), care of Hastie, Bull, and Pickering, Cashel Street, Christchurch, New Zealand. alliekiwi Posted 29 December , 2007 Share Posted 29 December , 2007 Hi, Ann. Welcome to the board. I don't think Fanny Wilson ever married, so any next of kin would be descendents of her siblings (if she had any who had children). I think this is her burial record in Christchurch as the Genealogy CDrom lists a probate record in the Christchurch court 1958 for Wilson, Fanny. Hospital Matron. Surname: Wilson First name(s): Fanny Date of death: Thursday, 11 September 1958 Cemetery: Ruru Lawn Cemetery Date of burial: Monday, 15 September 1958 Block number: 1B Plot number: 278 Age: 84 years Address: [For privacy reasons this address is not displayed] Occupation: Spinster Place of birth: Christchurch, NZ Years in New Zealand: 84 Allie
royalredcross Posted 29 December , 2007 Share Posted 29 December , 2007 She was later a fairly important Matron. There are also a couple of good pictures of her in Kendall and Corbett's History of the NZ Nursing Ssrvice. NGG
