Remembered Today:

A Zeppelin in Paris in 1918?

I'm trying to find out some information about an unusual picture of a Zeppelin that's dated October 1918. The record accompanying it states that the dirigible - which appears to have German insignia on its side - was moored in the Jardin de Tuileries in Paris. Assumingthe entry in the record is right, how could a German Zeppelin have ended up in the centre of Paris a month before the Armistice? It is fully inflated, and doesn't appear to have been shot down...Would like to upload it but it's too big - if anyone thinks they may be able to help and would like to see it, let me know and I'll send it via email.

It is fully inflated,

A zeppelin was a rigid airship with its gas bags concealed behind the 'hull' so it would look the same if it were empty of gas as full. The fact that you use the term inflated would suggest that this is not a zeppelin. Can you post the photo?

From memory, I think L46 was forced down and captured very much in tact.

Large sections were displayed bhy the French.

It would be good to see the picture. You need to re-size/Re-sample it in Paint shop to under 100Kb, then it will load no problem.
