Hallo,

I am looking for more info concerning Lt John West, 88 Sqn, kia 28/6/1918, now resting at Larch Wood Cemetery, Zillebeke.

Does anyone has a picture of John West?

Regards,

Cnock

No doubt you have the information in The Sky Their Battlefield. Airmen Died says that Lt John Prout West was aged 24 and from Rutland, Vermont, USA. His observer in Bristol F2B was Private Class II Alfred John Loton (209060).

I hope this helps.

West's RAF service record should be on microfilm at Kew.

Loton's RNAS service register is available online or free at Kew and the FRC; his RAF service record should be in AIR 79 at Kew. He joined the RNAS in 1915, three years service and he ended with a rank lower than when he joined the RAF!

Name Loton, Alfred John, Official Number: F9060, Place of Birth: Holborn, London, Date of Birth: 05 April 1897
