fwwjournal Posted 27 November , 2007 Share Posted 27 November , 2007 My grandfather Thomas Minshall enlisted with the Cheshire Yeomanry in 1914, and was eventually posted overseas in 1916 and he served in Egypt and Palestine. In 1917 the Cheshire Yeomanry amalgamated with the Shropshire Yeomanry to form the 10th (Shropshire & Cheshire Yeomanry) Battalion Kings Shropshire Light Infantry during 1917. In October 1917 Thomas was in Cadet Class in Cario, Egypt and I have his class room note book. He was eventually commissioned in the field (Dec. 1917) and transferred to the 15th (Yeomanry) Battalion Suffolk Regiment. What I am am seeking is where, if at all, any records might be as to where the Cadet Class was based, who attended the training, was it an assessed course, exam results....? If anyone has any thoughts as to the liklihood of any records surviving and where they might be I would be delighted to here. David
