Chris_Baker Posted 21 January , 2004 Share Posted 21 January , 2004 According to PRO, the war diary of 157 Siege Battery RGA can not be traced. I've checked out Martin Farndale's "History of the Royal Regiment of Artillery" and can see that it was a 6-inch howitzer battery, with Second Army in November 1918. The layout of the info on the page suggests it was with 70 Brigade RGA at that time. Can anyone confirm this, please? Also, and the real point of my question, can anyone please tell me which ASC Company provided the Ammunition Column for this battery? I've trawled all through the 1000+ companies in Michael Young's excellent work "Army Service Corps" but I'm blowed if I can find it.
munce Posted 21 January , 2004 Share Posted 21 January , 2004 At the risk of hijacking Chris's thread, can I ask the same question - and for exactly the same reasons - about the ammunition column for 99 Siege Battery RGA, ie which ASC company provided it?
