The Hindu & Sikh Memorial, Amara, Iraq

As the posting of the Cyclists' wall panel attracted queries about other units, here is a list of British regiments & corps whose lists of names I can supply images of, if I am PM'd:

Lancashire Fusiliers, Yorkshire Regiment

Hi Harry,

Can I copy the photo you have put on the web for my Lt West. 36 Sikhs please -

My other Amara man is Major J.R. Ramsay RFA.

They are both buried in the Cemetery so I wonered if you had an overall view I could have?

Many thanks

I've just sent 5 uncompressed images, including a good one of the 36th Sikhs names. Check that your postbox can handle them.

Sorry, I have no RFA names.

To understand the Cemetery layout please read the CWGC notes about the removal of headstones due to salinity.

Havrincourt

Sorry, I have no SWBs or RFAs

I'll post soon with a list of names of British dead from Indian units that can be seen on my images.

Did I say thanks for the photos? I did intend to, but

1) slight problems with my emails (Outlook)

2) put a rose thorn through my hand - hence typing abilities took a further downward turn by 50% (could only use one finger instead of two)

Thanks for the note about the headstones - I know the men are still where they were buried, didn't quite understand the reasons for the removal of them.
