stephenhowes Posted 19 November , 2007 Share Posted 19 November , 2007 Does anyone have a copy of a map for the OPPY area please? In particular I am reseaching the battle in which my great uncle was kia... He was with the 1st Royal Berkshire Regiment and killed in the attack which took place on 3 May 1917 in the OPPY area. The report on the action states that the "Companies got into line along the road from about B.12 b3/3 North Westward".... it goes on to say that Capt Bannatynes company of the Kings Regiment was to the right of the Royal Berks. I would be gratetful to know where this location is in relation to Oppy village please? (I have a full transcript of the report if anyone wants it) Many thanks Steve

Jonathan Saunders Posted 19 November , 2007 Share Posted 19 November , 2007 Steve - contact me and email me your direct e-address via members. I have a jpg of the map in the War Diary of the 1st Royal Berkshires for about 3rd May. I had a relative killed with them in the attack on 29th April - see my sign off.
