Guest Simon Bull Posted 19 January , 2004 Share Posted 19 January , 2004 I have borrowed from my local WFA a copy of the Imperial War Museum Trench Maps CD. I cannot get it to print. Clicking on the printer icon gets no result. Print preview gets no result. If I click file then print I get the printer dialog box but when I click OK nothing happens, and if I click properties nothing happens. My computer and printer are otherwise working fine. Anyone any bright ideas about how I might get it to work? Simon Bull.
Paul Reed Posted 19 January , 2004 Share Posted 19 January , 2004 I understand there is an XP 'blip' with this software - you can download a patch from the N&MP website if you are running XP. Maybe it's that?
Sue Light Posted 19 January , 2004 Share Posted 19 January , 2004 Simon Mine has messed around a bit at times - it prints fine, and then has a nervous breakdown and refuses to budge until I shut down and re-boot, but if that's not the cause try saving it and then printing. Get the view that you want on the screen, then go to: File Save a Copy Then choose to save as a Jpeg file I just save mine into 'My Pictures' Shut down the Trench Maps CD Open the saved map Re-size it as necessary and print. I've just tried it, and it worked fine. Regards - Sue
Neil Mackenzie Posted 19 January , 2004 Share Posted 19 January , 2004 Simon. From memory, the XP blip stops you opening any of the maps rather than causing a printing issue. However, if this is the problem you have to get a download from their Technical Support here(Trench Maps) Neil
shinglma Posted 19 January , 2004 Share Posted 19 January , 2004 Agree with Neil - The XP patch is to fix a problem opening the maps. It is available from the following web site (I got this from Lee on a previous thread). XP Trench map patch
