Robert Dunlop Posted 19 January , 2004 Share Posted 19 January , 2004 I don't have information for May. However, by 9th April (the start of the Battle of the Lys), XIIIth Corps was in reserve as part of First Army. It comprised a weakened 31st Division. The latter was in action by 12th April, helping to defend south of Bailleul. I think it had been transferred to XVth Corps but others willl know for sure. Guest Simon Bull Posted 23 January , 2004 Share Posted 23 January , 2004 Thanks Robert. I asked the question because a soldier who appears to have been transferred away from his usual unit at the relevant time may have been attached to XIII Corps and I was wondering what general area he was in -- he was killed during the relevant period!
