Ken Lees Posted 12 November , 2007 Share Posted 12 November , 2007 Is it just me, or is there nothing written apart from the title of the thread? Was this a premature detonation?
daggers Posted 12 November , 2007 Share Posted 12 November , 2007 Nice description! The system locked up on me I could not get it open again until now. Will redo it tomorrow after a yawn of Poliakoff. Daggers
Ken Lees Posted 12 November , 2007 Author Share Posted 12 November , 2007 Daggers, I have a copy of the Bn War Diary for March 1915, so I'll check back on this thread and see if I can help. Ken
daggers Posted 13 November , 2007 Share Posted 13 November , 2007 This is what I intended last night before the gremlin struck: I believe that 6th (Rifle) Bn The King's (Liverpool Regiment) TF landed at Havre on 25 Feb 1915, attached 15 Brigade, 5th Division. On 13 March Private [or Rifleman] Frederick H Wedlake, 1753, a prewar TF soldier and teacher, died of wounds, to be buried at Ramparts Cemetery, Ypres. This seems very quick for a Territorial battalion to be at the front, and any information about its movements and other casualties around this date would be welcome. Thank you Ken for your offer. Ken Lees Posted 13 November , 2007 Author Share Posted 13 November , 2007 Daggers, Checking my bookshelf, it appears that my copy of the 6KLR War Diary is out on loan. I'll try and get hold of it a.s.a.p. and let you have the details. Ken
