Terry Carter Posted 18 January , 2004 Share Posted 18 January , 2004 Hi all Here is an interesting snippet that I took from the 'NUNEATON OBSERVER' dated 19 November, 1915. I wonder if he did re-enlist?
john w. Posted 18 January , 2004 Share Posted 18 January , 2004 An interesting point, why would the Army discharge him? As far as I remember if parents wanted you back as you were underage then that was one way. What were the others... Also under 18 were supposed to remain in the UK is that right? If you lied about your age also then you were subject to the Army Act regardless.. John
Conor Dodd Posted 18 January , 2004 Share Posted 18 January , 2004 I have a feeling this guy isn't a Dub for one the capbadge in that photo isn't a RDF one. The closet person I can find that might be him is Private J. Loughran 18984 Wounded 1915 1st Battalion. Cheers Conor
