Embarkation lists

Hello ,

I was wondering if any members have tried looking at or for embarkation lists and what success they may have had .I guess if they are very lucky they may see officers mentioned but doubtful of OR's .

I know for example that grandad embarked March 5th 1915 Southampton to Le Havre on the S.S. Blackwell.

It would be great to see a list of those on board .

Appreciate any tips or advice and experiences of searching for same please .

According to ACI's lists should have been prepared, but I'm afraid if they were they were probably nearly all destroyed, unlike the Canadians and Australians who did have such lists, which were subsequently printed and published.

I have copies of embarkation lists for some Canadian units:

4th thru 11th Artillery Brigades (some include re-inforcing drafts)

86th, 120th, 173rd, 205th, and 254th Battalions

Eatons Motor Machine Gun

No. 1 Auto-Machine Gun

several medical related units...
