Regards Mark 1921 March 8 5999515 Corporal William Joseph Brigden, 1st Battalion, Essex Regiment died in England whilst on leave from Ireland 1921 March 19 5998138 Acting Sergeant Edward Watts, 1st Essex Regiment 5999398 Private Joseph Thomas Crafter, 1st Essex Regiment 5998204 Private William Wilkins, 1st Essex Regiment Killed when an army patrol was ambushed at Crossbarry Co Cork by the IRA Cork no. 3 Brigade under Tom Barry 5999664 Private Sidney Robert Cawley, 1st Battalion, Essex Regiment was shot and wounded in the ambush and died of his wounds next day 1921 May 30 6446205 Private William Edmeads, Royal Fusiliers was accidentally wounded and died on 2 June 1921 at Rathmore, a small town between Killarney and Mallow. There was a major British Army exercise going on in the area at the time. 1921 May 15 6446069 Sergeant Stephen Goldsmith, 1st Battalion Royal Fusiliers shot and wounded at Kenmare, Kerry after being knocked off his bicycle. Died of his wounds 20 May 1921 1921 March 21 6446547 Corporal Charles Rupert Greenwood, 1st Battalion, Royal Fusiliers 6446447 Private Frederick George West, 1st Battalion, Royal Fusiliers 6446536 Private Frank Edward Woods 1st Battalion, Royal Fusiliers The Kerry IRA attacked a train at the Headford junction near Killarney 1920 Nov 18 5373574 Private Maurice Frank Robins ‘C’ Coy 1st Battalion Oxford and Bucks Light shot and wounded guarding a crashed aircraft. Died of wounds to his right knee in Fermoy Hospital 2 March 1921 1920 Nov 18, after an aeroplane had made a forced landing near Punches Quarry at Cratloe in County Clare, the 1st Battalion Oxford and Bucks Light were asked to protect the machine during the night, and a platoon from "C" Company, 1st Battalion was, sent out under 2nd Lieutenant M.H. Last. When the party reached Cratloe they set up camp near the aircraft and built themselves a large fire, unaware that a party of IRA men had decided to raid the site to see if they could capture the aeroplane's machine gun. The attackers, led by Joe Clancy of the IRA East Clare brigade, opened fire on the soldiers from an elevated position at about 17.30 hrs, 5373641 Private Alfred Spackman being killed, while 5373574 Private Maurice Robins was severely wounded. 1921 Feb 23 5999140 Lance Corporal Herbert Leslie Stubbs, 1st Essex Regiment was captured and shot Bandon a short distance from the barracks by the 3rd. Cork Brigade IRA 1921 March 1 5998377 Private Frederick James Vince, Essex Regiment died of a tubercule lung at Cork 1921 Feb 21 5374675 Private William Sydney Walker, ‘B’ Company, 1st Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry. Three soldiers of the Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry were captured by the IRA near Feakle, Co Clare.
