Hi,

I am trying to establish the cause of death of Lt GE Bullock RAF, died July 1916, serving in 148 squadron. Where i am at the moment I have access to very little information. Any help appreicated, thanks, Rick

Hi Rick.

I am interested in the name Bullock as you can see by my own name, can you supply any further information on Lt Bullock. I checked 148 Squadron, and as far as I can tell this Sqdr was not formed until 10th Feb 1918, I am sure someone on the Forum will be along to help you. Good luck in your search. I will watch this thread.

Lt G E Bullock (formerly 5th Bn, North Staffordshire Regiment) was killed in an accident when flying as observer in FE 2b A6569, flown by 2Lt W G Perry, of No 148 Sqn RAF on 16 July 1918. He is buried in Pernes, France. 2Lt Perry was injured in the accident.

No 148 Sqn, a night bombing unit, was based at Sans-les-Pernes at the time.

From The Times, Saturday 27 July 1918:

KILLED IN ACTION

BULLOCK. - Killed in action, on the 16th July, GEOFFREY ERNEST. Lieutenant, North Staffordshire Regiment and R.A.F., elder son of C.E. BULLOCK, of Barlaston, Stoke-on-Trent aged 22.
