Mark Abbott Posted 4 November , 2007 Share Posted 4 November , 2007 I have the MM, 1914-15 trio and plaque to the above. He is buried in St Souplet British Cemetery, having died as a POW on the 23rd August 1916. He had been captured (and presumably wounded) at Guillemont on the 8th August. I have visited his grave and noticed in the Cemetery Register that many of the graves have been brought in from the surrounding area. Does anyone know if it is possible to check the location of an original burial? Mark
Terry Denham Posted 4 November , 2007 Share Posted 4 November , 2007 Email CWGC and give them the current location. They will check the original burial return for that cemetery if it still exists. It will be noted on that. It may take some time though as many of these records are away for digitising.
