Hello all,

I have a mic for my g.g.uncle, which says 1st Prov. Co. RE.

I'm assuming this is 1st provisional company royal engineers. Can anyone confirm this, and tell me anything about them?

My man's mic has him enlisting 21/11/1898, and discharged sick (KR 392 XVI) 10/04/1916.

I have a record of him marrying in Malta in 1908.

Any clues as to his service (including possible Boer War service)?

Thanks

Andy

Thought I'd "hoike" this post up, to keep it fresh - hope people don't mind, as I've had no replies yet!

Cheers
