Hi,

A soldier's service records refer to his request in accordance with Army Council Instruction 1701 of 1916 to transfer from a reserve Yeomanry unit to the Army Ordnance Corps.

It subsequently notes his transfer as per ACI 2064 of 1916.

What did these regulations cover, please?

1701 2nd Sept 1916.

1701=Disposal of Warrant Officers & NCO's (Reguler & T.F.) in excess of establishments at home.

2064 1st Nov 1916.

2064=Disposal of men in engineering trades.

Thank you very much for that response,

it fits in well with the paperwork for a skilled blacksmith with the reserve Yeomanry whose unit is converted to cyclists in 1916.

Cheers,
