ARABIS Posted 3 October , 2007 Share Posted 3 October , 2007 Hello, I have a copy of a service record for a Boy 1st Class R.N. who was lost with H.M.S. Genista on 23rd October 1916 aged 16. His previous occupation is listed as Exmouth Boy. Was this a nautical training school like Greenwich Hospital School, Worcester etc? Thanks, ARABIS. historydavid Posted 3 October , 2007 Share Posted 3 October , 2007 Arabis, there was a TS ship called Exmouth from 1905. Another possible interpretation could be Boy 1c rating, ex Exmouth, battleship. Best wishes David
spithead Posted 3 October , 2007 Share Posted 3 October , 2007 Hello Arabis Almost certain 'Exmouth Boy' would mean TS Exmouth http://www.trainingships.royalnavy.co.uk/exmouthhistory.htm Regards John
