Remembered Today:

Exmouth Boy

ARABIS

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a copy of a service record for a Boy 1st Class R.N. who was lost with H.M.S. Genista on 23rd October 1916 aged 16. His previous occupation is listed as Exmouth Boy. Was this a nautical training school like Greenwich Hospital School, Worcester etc?

Thanks,

ARABIS.

Arabis, there was a TS ship called Exmouth from 1905.

Another possible interpretation could be Boy 1c rating, ex Exmouth, battleship.

Best wishes

David
