Hi, I am looking for a crew's list to the H.M.S. Kangaroo.

I had a great Uncle who may have served on her.

William Taylor was his name and he was born in 1891 and lived in Falkirk around the turn of the century.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Take care,

Stephanie

look for the year 1900, tony

Hey Tony,

How funny, a friend of mine sent me this photo and the sailor sitting in the right hand corner bares an incredible likeness to my great Uncle William. So we're pretty sure this is him, but how does one go about obtaining a crew list from that era? I'm relatively new to researching and keep hitting deadends. Any help there would be wonderful. Love the photo, I printed it off and added it to my album that I'm keeping.

Thanks again, take care,

Crew lists/ musters no longer exist for Royal Navy ships of this period. You can download the register for free at Kew or the Family Record Centre.

Hi Per,

Well, that's a bummer about the lists. I'll check the others out.

Thank you, I do appreciate the info.

Take care,

Hi Tony,

Thank you for the info, it's a downer that crew lists have disappeared over the years. The crew pic that you sent really has me 99% convinced that my great Uncle William was part of that crew. If my comp at home was working, I'd send you the picture I have of him so perhaps you could see the resemblence but I'm afraid it may be a time for a new modem on that home comp. If I remember I'll bring the disc to work tomorrow and see if I can download it onto the forum. Fortunately I have Tom to help me with my photos of my other uncles. I'm not very good at resizing and such, comp stupid at times. :)

Anyway, thanks a bunch. I'll put these names on my list for the Kangaroo.

Take care,

Steph

Hi,

Tom has so sweetly posted what we believe to be a pic of our Great Uncle William under Units and Formations, topic Captain Martin Taylor. He would be the one in the middle. If anyone recognizes him or the others, I'd love to hear from you.

Thank you,

Stephanie
