calvin Posted 28 September , 2007 Share Posted 28 September , 2007 hello all, does anyone know which auxillary trawlers were attached to hms pekin at the beginning of ww1, hms pekin was the depot ship for grimsby, also if you were posted from pekin to the eastern med. in 1915 for the galipolli campaign would you go with your ship or troop out and join a ship there, thankyou again, regards, john
historydavid Posted 28 September , 2007 Share Posted 28 September , 2007 John, can't answer the first part. For the second, if your ship was posted to Gallipoli you would go with her as part of the crew. If you were posted as an individual then you would be allocated a berth in a transport. calvin Posted 29 September , 2007 Author Share Posted 29 September , 2007 hello david, thankyou for that, would you say with the trawlers it was more likely they would go with their ship or just the same as they were all in the RNR, thanks again, regards, john
historydavid Posted 29 September , 2007 Share Posted 29 September , 2007 John, whether you were RN, RNR, MMR or MM, if your ship was posted somewhere you went with it. Best wishes David
