St Yvon or St Yves

I Have a trench map dated 1/4/17 and it shows the positions from Plugstreet wood upto the Wytschaete.

I am trying to find whereabouts the position of the cottage at St Yvon where the Bruce Bairnsfather memorial plaque was unveiled in December, 2003.

I think I know where the area is but cannot find the name St Yvon only St Yves is this the same place? I have marked on the map with a green dot where I think the cottage is.

Am I correct?

Thanks

Terry

You're right, Terry, St. Yvon and St. Yves are the same place.

Tom is correct. St Yves and St Yvon are the same place but you have marked the cottage in the wrong place. See Latest News on our site www.guide-books.co.uk

The correct position is above the next corner.

Best wishes

Well - you've got the exact location courtesy of a Bairnsfather expert there, Terry.

Welcome to the Forum, Tonie!
