MartinWills Posted 12 January , 2004 Share Posted 12 January , 2004 John Toland who was an honorary Vice President of the Western Front Association died on January 4th 2004 aged 91. He will be best remembered by Great War historians for his acclaimed "No Man's Land - The story of 1918" but he was author of a number of other books on military topics. I will remember him because of his ability to merge first rate history with exciting and illuminating writing. I have several of his books on my shelf.
