GWRCo Posted 23 September , 2007 Share Posted 23 September , 2007 Hi gang! ......need some help please - a friend has put this silver plated toast rack on ebay as a 1stWW RFC item. It is hallmarked, and he reckons the dates for the hallmark are from 1912 to 1918. However, i firmly believe that the item is in fact a Glasgow Rangers football club item as the crest is uncannily very very similiar! Can anyone help? I did do a 'google' search, and this showed several images that are virtually spot on - have attached photie below! tim

Desmond7 Posted 23 September , 2007 Share Posted 23 September , 2007 I don't think it's Rangers. Similar but very rough. In fact I would say it wasn't a GRFC item.
Guest KevinEndon Posted 24 September , 2007 Share Posted 24 September , 2007 The tops of the letters are different and with the Rangers badge you can clearly see the R.F.C. they never used G.R.F.C. The letter C is shaped exactly the same but Rangers may well have copied the Royal Flying Corps badge to a certain extent. Very hard to tell on this one, but I would go with the Royal Flying Corps.
