Rob Bulloch Posted 11 January , 2004 Posted 11 January , 2004 Hello to the Forum. A while back someone posted an Avitar of a hand reaching up through barbed wire trying to touch a butterfly, has any one on the forum know who the artist was, Thanks in advance. Yours Aye Rob.
Terry Denham Posted 11 January , 2004 Posted 11 January , 2004 Sounds like the last scene from the original film version of "All Quiet on the Western Front"
Rob Bulloch Posted 12 January , 2004 Author Posted 12 January , 2004 That is what I thought Terry, some one on the forum did a small drawing of it and used it as an Avitar it hit a nerve in me I thought it was so very touching. But the scene in the film AQOTWF was it not a bird?? Rob.
Broznitsky Posted 12 January , 2004 Posted 12 January , 2004 Rob, I believe it was Annette Burgoyne. If you search for the thread I think Mordac (Garth) had questioned her about it, and it was based on AQWF. It was a butterfly, as that was what Paul the hero collected. Peter in Vancouver
Annette Burgoyne Posted 12 January , 2004 Posted 12 January , 2004 Guilty as charged. It is on the cover of the soft backed copy of All Quiet. In the 1930's film, Paul see a butterfly and tries to get hold of it, when he is shot by a French sniper. I was heart broken when I first saw this film as a kid, and I hated the French for a long time (I was only a kid and do not hate the French now). The image is very moving. Annette
mordac Posted 12 January , 2004 Posted 12 January , 2004 Hi Rob: Annette posted a larger image of her butterfly avatar here. Garth
Rob Bulloch Posted 13 January , 2004 Author Posted 13 January , 2004 Thanks all. It is as I said very moving !!! Yours Aye Rob.
