The Official History, The Third Afghan War republished by Naval & Military. There are originals out there, but they are £200. This is 1919-20, are you interested in Waziristan too?

Other than the inevitable diplomatic activity plus espionage etc there was no British involvement in Afghanistan during WW1. The 3rd Afghan war was a seperate event entirely (starting with an Afghan invasion of India. There was the inevitable unrest (when isn't there) in the tribal areas of what is today Pakistan, the Baluchis being particularly active

There is a book 'Afghanistan 1919' by G Molesworth who served with the Somerset Light Infantry during the War.

It was published 1962 by The Asia Publishing House.

I borrowed a copy from the local library but don't know if it is still available

My grandfather was with the West Ridings and I think he may have been at Spinbalduk (?) , but I haven't yet managed to look at his record . I have a couple of small photos sent to him by an army friend as a Christmas card in the '30's . (The pictures are just scenery and a pet dog ).
