Fate 27 Apr, 1916 - Grounded on the Shipwash Shoal 5159N 0138E. Boat scuttled but charges failed to explode. Captured intact with some of her mines, the UC5 would inspire Admiralty to fit some of the 'E' class boats out as minelayers designed on the same principle.
