ionia Posted 30 August , 2007 Share Posted 30 August , 2007 Please, does anyone have information about the sinking of the U-Kreuzer U-154 by the british submarine HMS E35 on May 11th, 1918? (logbook, documents, informations about, etc...) Any information about will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. U 154 (which was in company with U 153 at the time) was torpedoed by E 35 at 1825hrs on 11th May, 1918 in the Atlantic in 36deg 51' N, 11deg 50' W. All of the 77 crew weere lost. E 35's first torpedo missed but she hit with the second. E 35 was unable to search for survivors because of the presence of U 153 which fired a torpedo at her. The captain of E 35 was D'Oyly Hughes who, in WW2, as captain of the aircraft carrier GLORIOUS lost both his life and ship (and attracted criticism) when his ship was surprised by the SCHARNHORST and GNEISENAU.
