Moving a U-Boat

Jon,

I have read elsewhere on another forum that it is the U-33. The lkink that the other forum used was the Daily Mail.

Yes i read the article in the Daily Mail on Saturday the 18th Aug .

Very interesting although they do not mention how they are going to

move it ?. They did say that the boat could not be blown up as itis a

War Grave.

I was wondering what legal procedures Trinity House have to go through to obtain authority to move a marine war grave. Is it comparable to exhumation and reburial of a coffin?

I think they are being a little optimistic to simply say 'move it'!

It is nearly 100 years old, full of silt, structural integrity almost nill. No engineer would even contemplate such a 'move' without the most enormously expensive operation.

What is to bet it miraculously disintegrates during the moving process.

U-boat is the UB33, not the U33 as is mentioned indeed on a number of sites...
