You can find his service number on the alphabetical medal roll offline in ADM 171/128 at Kew: Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Ratings Mor-Sic. Then you will find his sea service register in ADM 337, on microfilm.

Trawlers tended to be crewed by men in the Royal Naval Reserve, so if not found using the method above try their medal roll: ADM 171/123 RNR Ratings Mar-Sey. Then you should find his service cards in BT 377/7.

There were several Pearts in the Royal Navy

and in the Royal Naval Division

The original RNR cards are held by the Fleet Air Arm Museum (search the forum for that, FAAM or FAA Museum for threads about it). HMS Victory could be the ship or 10 shore bases including dept ships for the auxiliary patrols.

Its a fast look up to get these details from Kew, but longer to get a decent copy <_< I incuded the other 2 links in case you have stray family members who might have strayed.
