hello all ,has anyone heard of a auxillary patrol vessel called the shooting star, it is mentioned on my grandfathers service record, thankyou , regards, john

From "Steam Drifters - A Brief History" by Jim Tarvit

HMD Shooting Stars

Builders: Colby Brothers, Oulton Broad, Lowestoft

Type: Non Standard Wooden Drifter

Gross Tons: 97 tons

Net Tons: 41 tons

Horse Power: 34 ihp

Length; 87.5 ft

Completed: 1918

History: Royal Navy 1918-29, then registered as BCK 57 (Buckie) of same name, scrapped December 1948.
