Remembered Today:

SS Tintoretto

Recommended Posts

On 4th November 1914 the 1/8th Royal Scots travelled on the above Vessel from Southampton to Le Harve.

One member of the Battalion described her as "an old cattle boat"

Does anyone have any information about her?

TIA

Kath,

Thank you for the link.

The 14 year old Soldier(4585 J.M. Marchbank) got her age wrong when he sailed on her so she must have stank a bit :D

Lucky he only did the journey from England to France on her and not one of her later voyages from Canada to France.
