KONDOA Posted 2 August , 2007 Share Posted 2 August , 2007 Chums, Can anyone enlighten me regarding this vessel and where and what it was up to please. Roop
ionia Posted 2 August , 2007 Share Posted 2 August , 2007 She seems to have been laid up at Portsmouth in the early part of the war and then became a depot ship at Portland for the Auxiliary Patrol from 1915 to 1920 when she was sold out of the service. Built 1888, displacement 520 tons.
KONDOA Posted 3 August , 2007 Author Share Posted 3 August , 2007 Thank you Ionia.Any known service in the Humber area do you know? Roop
ionia Posted 3 August , 2007 Share Posted 3 August , 2007 She was built as a paddle survey ship. She may have visited the Humber in that capacity (pre-war?) but I have seen no record of her being there between 1914 and 1920. That is not conclusive, of course. KONDOA Posted 3 August , 2007 Author Share Posted 3 August , 2007 Thanks again. I have a photograph taken in Hull of a chap with this on his cap tally so thought there may be a connection. Roop
