Hi Neil,

No I do not know which Battalion he served in yet.

I know he was back in England in 1918, he married 17 June 1918 in Northampton.

He was possibly in 524 HSE Coy and Labour Coy.

I was given information that gave me a Regt Number of 334008, but after some replies on this site I am unsure wether this was my GF.

I have a SWB that is reputed to be his, but the only Pte Edward Crossland that was awarded a SWB had the number 334008. My father told me the other day that he saw 4 medals. When he was young. Leads me to believe that the research that was done for an uncle was not the right Edward Crossland. also the number on the SWB implies that it was awarded to a 31788 Pte Geo Elkins, 3 Bn Welsh Regt.

My GF had two wound stripes, a LS/GC Chevron and a Marksman Badge on a picture I have of him at his wedding in June 1918. You can see it on the picture.

Any assistance however small would be appreciated.

Eddy
