stevem Posted 27 July , 2007 Share Posted 27 July , 2007 Does anyone have details of the capture of Lt MG F Westcott? According to the Cox & Co POW list he was reported as missing on 29 September 1917 and was repatriated in December 1918. Thanks very much Steve
Dolphin Posted 28 July , 2007 Share Posted 28 July , 2007 Steve Lt G F Westcott was the pilot of FE 2b A5599 of No 101 Sqn RFC, with 2Lt E A V Ellerbeck as observer, when he was shot down (anti-aircraft fire?) while on a night bombing mission near Gontrode on 29 September 1917. On 1 June 1916, then 2Lt G F Westcott was the observer in BE 2c 2612 of No 16 Sqn, flown by 2Lt R Buck, when the aeroplane was shot up and damaged while on an escort mission. I hope that this helps you. Gareth
