John84 Posted 28 July , 2007 Author Share Posted 28 July , 2007 David Thanks for checking, much appreciated. Per Ardua...I have checked Lloyd's Register, cant find her. Bit of a strange one this as I have a lad listed as serving onboard her as an Engineer on the 1918 absent voters list. Thanks again John.
per ardua per mare per terram Posted 28 July , 2007 Share Posted 28 July , 2007 The Mercantile Navy List has many ships in it that aren't on Lloyd's Register, but it's harder to find copies. Here's the National Maritime Museum guide which includes researching engineers http://www.port.nmm.ac.uk/research/c2.html Registers of Certificates of Competency: Engineers (1861-1921). These are held at The National Archives. Engineers: BT 139 , BT 140 and BT 142 Their research guide for officers: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalog...?sLeafletID=
