Terry Denham Posted 26 July , 2007 Share Posted 26 July , 2007 CWGC added the following 'new' WW1 casualty to its Debt of Honour database today – Thursday 26th July. Pte George Francis Beaumont MORTIMER 15/657 15 Bn, West Yorkshire Regt Died 01.07.16 Age 26 Commemoration: Thiepval Memorial, France NOT FORGOTTEN This case was put forward on behalf of GWF member, Leeds Andy, on 12.07.07 – ten working days for acceptance. Not bad going even for a straightforward army ‘in service’ case. Pte Mortimer’s brother, George Harold, died in the same battalion (Service No. 15/658) on the same day – another pair of ‘same day’ brothers for Chris' list. WhiteWolf Posted 27 July , 2007 Share Posted 27 July , 2007 Cheers Terry and the CWGC As you say 10 days is absolutely brilliant. I've found that he was born 2nd Qtr 1890 in Leeds But I'm having problems finding any information about him on the census (1891 & 1901) I have to say sorry I missed this when Terry posted the thread. I am raising a glass to the memory of the Mortimer brothers as I type Sleep well lads Andy

Terry Denham Posted 28 July , 2007 Author Share Posted 28 July , 2007 Andy No need to apologise as you are one of the unfortunate souls who are suffering loss of power and water in Gloucestershire! Ironic that a flood leads to a water shortage! Andrew H 'a few months' !!! - I have some going back to 2004! They are not all straightforward cases though but the RAF and RN do not seem to take this task as seriously as the army and RM (or the dominions).
