This was in my local newspaper 17yrs ago, it shows and names some of the men of the 11th Field Ambulance in 1918. if anyone is interested in a clearer copy lmk.

By the way my Grandfather is bottom row 2nd right.

Np Barbara,

Here is a little bit more for you, Harold Ellis (back row 3rd from right) won the Military Medal on the Somme, after being commended for his gallantry and lack of concern for his own safety by 3 regiments, 2 of which were the Seaforth highlanders and the East Lancashire Regiment.

I do know a little about Pte Ellis. He orginally joined up with the 1st East Anglian Field Ambulance then transferred to the 11th on 9th August 1914. Didn't know why he was awarded the MM though.

Have you any other information on the 11th Field Ambulance, as i am trying to piece together anything i can about my grandfather Maurice Britton and his company.
