Edgie Posted 30 July , 2007 Author Share Posted 30 July , 2007 Np Barbara, Here is a little bit more for you, Harold Ellis (back row 3rd from right) won the Military Medal on the Somme, after being commended for his gallantry and lack of concern for his own safety by 3 regiments, 2 of which were the Seaforth highlanders and the East Lancashire Regiment. He orginally joined up with the 1st East Anglian Field Ambulance then transferred to the 11th on 9th August 1914. Didn't know why he was awarded the MM though.
