Ralph J. Whitehead Posted 2 January , 2004 Share Posted 2 January , 2004 It was located at the sector Tahure-Butte de Mesnil from December 1914 through end of April 1916. It occupied the sector throughout the winter without any notable action per the history of 251 German Divisions. I need to go out for a bit and upon my return I will look into the regimental history to see if there is anything further regarding the regiment, uniforms or photos. Whitehead Posted 2 January , 2004 Share Posted 2 January , 2004 Roger, I did a quick check in the regimental history. there are a few general area photos of rather a poor quality, no real photos of uniforms that show anything other than usual equipment you see in general photos of the period. I looked through the text and while there was the occasional clash with the French, small French raids, etc. Nothing of any real consequence. I do not know what kind of scene you are representing but if there are any specific questions I might be able to help with just ask. I look forward to seeing the finished product. I chose to represent IR 40 because there are a couple of good photo's of men from this regt. in the first Osprey book on the German Army and in Brassey's German Army book.
