Dan Brock Posted 16 July , 2007 Share Posted 16 July , 2007 I've been interested in dazzle camouflage lately and stumbled across this gem on the US Navy's historical site. My question: It's a big enough ship, why not paint a cruiser? Due to changing atmospheric conditions, I wonder how much of the time this gambit was actually convincing. It seems that if it wasn't working it would seem a bit desperate. Couldn't get the photo to load but you can find it here.
Michael Lowrey Posted 16 July , 2007 Share Posted 16 July , 2007 Dan, A U-boat might very well try to put a torpedo into a cruiser, while destroyers were usually (but not always) not targeted. Best wishes, Michael
