kerry Posted 2 January , 2004 Share Posted 2 January , 2004 Dear All, could someone please help me locate the exact line of trenches near Plugstreet where the Christmas Truce took place, the new (1999) cross marking the area and whether the Khaki Pals trenches they dug, can still be seen? Many thanks and a happy and peaceful 2004 to all. Kerry Hutchinson

Paul Reed Posted 2 January , 2004 Share Posted 2 January , 2004 Do let us note that this was not the only location where the Christmas Truce took place in 1914, not even just around Ploegsteert. There is a good map showing where parts of the truce took place in Malcolm Brown's The Christmas Truce which was first published in 1984, but is now available in pbk I believe.
