tsumi Posted 14 July , 2007 Share Posted 14 July , 2007 I am a novice at researching and am trying to find out details of one of my mothers cousin,s Australian army days,Walter H Beatham,Robert M Beathams brother, so far so good, I downloaded Walters file from the Australian National Archive,s knowing he had been a prisoner of war ,what I can,t seem to find out is which Prison Camp (in Germany ?and what were the conditions like, he was discharged when released as being unfit for duty)he was detained at for two and half years after he was captured at Somme and wounded.It seems to say on the forms, Place of Detention Dunster ?, .He was repatriated when released back to England, 1919.Has anyone knowledge on the subject .His details as given are 2nd Austrailian Division,21st Battalion no 337e .
