In my haste to mark the 90th anniversary of the loss of HMS Vanguard today, I almost forgot to commemorate the 89th anniversary of the death of a hero of mine - Jimmy McCudden - who tragically died in a flying accident at Auxi-le-Chateau when on his way to take over 60 Sqn.

R.I.P.

McCudden was a unique individual. Considering his humble beginnings he seems to have been a remarkable man. I've always enjoyed reading his, "Flying Fury."

He is also a hero of mine.
