I recently took a "punt" on an unusual Army LSGC & 1914-15 Star Trio group to a Gunner Denis Kenneally RGA,odd in that his first "theatre of war" on his MiC;is given as Lady Fraser{possibly Frasier},the only online record of this Ship is on this link:ss Lady Fraserwhich may or may not be of relevance, any assistance on the service in the Great War of This Tender would be appreciated & why a RGA Gunner would be aboard also...?

Hello Harry,

The Lady Fraser was a Royal Indian Marine shallow draught steamer, used either as a Miscellaneous Patrol or Minesweeper in the Indian Ocean. She was hired from about mid 1917 to 1919. Built 1908, 1669 grt.

She would have been armed, and I suppose your man was assigned for that purpose (in effect, a D.A.M.S. gunner).

Your web address is correct for this ship.

Best wishes

David
