widwick Posted 28 December , 2003 Share Posted 28 December , 2003 Hello all Can anyone help me please. I know Q1 was sunk in the Genoa Gulf on 3 Dec 1916. Were there casualties and does anyone have a photo. Were the ships logs put overboard like the code books? Thanks and a Happy New Year to all Tony

widwick Posted 28 December , 2003 Author Share Posted 28 December , 2003 Dave Thank you for the reply - unfortunately the web site doesn't answer the questions on casualties/photo and log book Best wishes Tony
widwick Posted 14 January , 2004 Author Share Posted 14 January , 2004 Answering my own question in part after a visit to Kew One senior stoker and 7 stokers were killed in the Uboat attack. The rest of the crew were rescued by the French Navy. Still after a photo Tony
maninblack Posted 3 November , 2010 Share Posted 3 November , 2010 My Grandfather was a gunner on Q1 from her comissioning until she was sunk. The rescued crew were, apparently, in the water again after the vessel that picked them up was also torpedoed the same day.
