pgardiner1418 Posted 12 June , 2007 Share Posted 12 June , 2007 Can anyone help with any information regarding a John James Faragher believed to have been killed on H.M.S. Derwent 2nd May 1917. He appears on the Manx Memorial at Tynwald but defies location on C.W.G.C. All the best, Paul.
historydavid Posted 12 June , 2007 Share Posted 12 June , 2007 Paul, no one of that name died in the service of the Royal Navy (including its variants). Best wishes David
per ardua per mare per terram Posted 12 June , 2007 Share Posted 12 June , 2007 According to the online results: only 3 Faraghers served in the Royal Navy http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documen...mp;mediaarray=* None in the Royal Naval Division. You'll (or someone) need to check at Kew in the medal rolls to see if he was in Royal Naval Reserve or Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. There are several threads that show that people are on memorials that did not qualify for CWGC commemoration.
historydavid Posted 12 June , 2007 Share Posted 12 June , 2007 Paul, this is the only Faragher to die in the RN, that I can find: FARAGHER, CHARLES, SEAMAN, RNR, B 5189, WHITE HEAD M.F.A., 15-Oct-17, SHIP LOSS. Best wishes Davis
