Remembered Today:

Car boot purchase

Hello

Following on from the last posting.

These two items were purchased from the same seller but there is no guarantee that they belonged together.

The postcard shows a young man ( "don't give him your name Pike!") who presumably is a medical orderly I suppose belonging to

the RAMC.Would the armband shown ( which carries the marking Army Medical Service) possibly belong to him?

I have my doubts as the buttons used to fix it are a imitation pearl variety.I am not being sexist here when I suggest that these are more

associated ( by me at least) with a nurse.

Can any one tell me what the circular arm patch signifies? Is it simply another red cross within a white circular background?

Why have the armband and the patch?

Suggestions welcome.

Many thanks as always,

Regards,

Bob Norman

Can't help you with the unit identification (apart from the observation that it probably doesn't belong in 'The war in the air' :)), but I notice that your man has his pockets stuffed with something bulky — bandages, perhaps.
