I wonder whether the experts out there could meat out the information I have on the observer from Porthmadog, Wales mentioned above?

I know that he was killed on June 16 1918 over Crape-au-Mesnil, but I wonder if anyone knows the details of his demise? Is it known who brought him and his pilot (Hirst) down?

Any other information would be gratefully received too.

Regards,

Trebrys.

2Lt Sidney Hirst (aged 23, from Moseley, Warwickshire) and 2Lt J M Hughes were flying in DH 9 C6192 of No 103 Sqn RAF on a bombing raid on Roye, having left Fourneuil aerodrome , when they were brought down at 1000 by what looked like a direct hit by anti-aircraft fire on 16 June 1918.

I hope that this helps

Many thanks, once again for your help, Gareth!

Absolutely gutted by the result Down Under in the game which finished a few minutes ago!

You weren't the only one feeling exhausted at the end! The Wallabies made the game extremely hard work for themselves. I just kept waiting for the next mistake to happen - and it usually did.

Aaarrrggghhh!
