Remembered Today:

Hospital Ship

Hi.

I am wondering if anybody can help to identify this ship?

I have recently researched a member of the A.I.F. who was 'gassed', and, after initially receiving treatment at Rouen in the 9th General Hospital, was transported to England, as his records state, aboard H.S "G" Tully Castle. I am only presuming that this ship was part of the Union-Castle line but can find no further reference. Is the record in the service documents an abbreviation?

Any help as always much appreciated.

Kindest regards, Chris.

Chris,

I believe this to be the Hospital Ship Grantully Castle - a quick Google will give you more than you need to know.
