Guest Hill 60 Posted 21 December , 2003 Share Posted 21 December , 2003 BBC's Ceefax service has a story that the Pope is to beatify the last Emperor of the Austro-Hungarian Empire (1916-18), Charles I, after recognising a miracle attributed to him. No details have been given as to what the miracle was, but it is said to relate to a Brazilian nun who was cured of a deadly disease. Beatification is the penultimate step before sainthood, for which proof of another miracle is required. Just thought I'd share that
CROONAERT Posted 21 December , 2003 Share Posted 21 December , 2003 Interesting stuff. Does anyone know of any other WW1 related beatifications or sainthoods? I can think of one from WW2 (Father Maximillian Kolbe), but none from WW1. Dave.
